Founded in 1909 in Baltimore, Maryland, the NAACP is the nation’s oldest and largest civil rights organization. Thousands of dedicated workers, organizers, leaders, and members make up the NAACP as they continue to fight for social justice for all Americans. There are 2,200 branches nationwide and half a million members worldwide.
In our Harrisonburg-Rockingham community, a strong NAACP branch with a robust, active membership is the best way to ensure justice for all our citizens.
We seek to educate our neighbors on matters concerning racial discrimination and civil rights because hatred and discrimination harm all of our citizens, not just those who are targeted and treated unfairly.
We're growing with multiple generations and walks of life in our membership, and elevating to new heights in how we operate and the reach of our efforts. Join our branch to experience it for yourself!
