Founded in 1909 in Baltimore MD, the NAACP is the nation’s oldest and largest civil rights organization. Thousands of dedicated workers, organizers, leaders, and members make up the NAACP as they continue to fight for social justice for all Americans. There are 2,200 branches nationwide and half a million members worldwide.
In our Harrisonburg-Rockingham community, a strong NAACP branch with a robust, active membership is the best way to ensure justice for all our citizens.
We seek to educate our neighbors on matters concerning racial discrimination and civil rights. Because hatred and discrimination harms all of our citizens, not just those who are targeted and treated unfairly.
